This oil painting has a bit of a story. I had been working on it off and on for months and it was coming to nothing. One december In artistic frustration I went a little mad and threw red oil paint at it. Once I calmed down and thought this was a stupid thing to do I scraped off the oil paint and was left with the crimson red stormy winter sky. The original sold the day I put it on show in a Glasgow gallery.

The Spinnaker Hotel in Gourock commissioned me to paint an original oil painting to hang in the bar and to be used on the new signage and menu's. The brief was simple. Something dark and moody of the River Clyde.
